Alyx Treasure put herself back in the NCAA track and field spotlight.

Now in her senior year at Kansas State, Treasure won the women's high jump competition Saturday at the University of New Mexico Team Invitational meet in Albuquerque.

The 22-year-old Prince George Track and Field Club member cleared the bar at 1.83 metres on her second attempt. Zibby Boyer of UCLA also reached 1.83 m but required three attempts at that height and finished in second place. Kimberley Williamson, Treasure's Kansas State teammate, was third at 1.79m.

Treasure was an All-American at K-State last season, won five of nine NCAA outdoor meets in 2014 and finished in a tie for second at the NCAA outdoor championships. She also won two indoor meets and was second twice on the NCAA indoor scene.

Treasure, a D.P. Todd secondary school graduate, is considered a strong candidate to make the Canadian Olympic team in 2016.

Next weekend she will be in Lincoln, Neb., for the Sevigne Husker Invitational meet.
