Alyx Treasure is a junior national champion.
The 19-year-old Prince George Track and Field Club member won the high jump event with a leap of 1.81 metres Saturday at the Athletics Canada junior national championships in Winnipeg.
Treasure and Rachel Machin of Calgary each cleared the 1.81m bar, but Treasure was awarded the gold medal because she had fewer unsuccessful attempts during the event. Brooke Rowland of Toronto, 17, won bronze, jumping 1.72m.
