Timberwolves narrowly fall to Cascades on Shoot for a Cure night

The UNBC Timberwolves and University of the Fraser Valley Cascades hit the hardwood at Northern Sport Centre on Saturday evening in the second game of the weekend series between the two teams.

In front of 550 fans, the visiting Cascades narrowly edged out the hometown Timberwolves by a score of 75-71.

Leading the way for UNBC were Madison Landry who had 24 points and 4 rebounds, and Maria Mongomo who had 23 points and 9 rebounds.

Leading the way for the Cascades were Deanna Tuchscherer who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Taylor Claggett who had 17 points and 12 rebounds.

With the loss the Timberwolves record falls to 3-9 while the win puts UFV at 9-4 on the season.

The Timberwolves were wearing special pink jerseys on Saturday for their annual Shoot for a Cure night. The jerseys were worn to honour the life of UNBC Athletic Director Loralyn Murdoch's sister Shannon.
