The Prince George Cougars fell 8-3 to the Try-City Americans Satruday at CN Centre.

Four unanswered third-period goals from the Tri-City Americans was the difference, as the Prince George Cougars dropped an 8-3 contest to Tri-City on Saturday night at CN Centre.

The Cougars were able to get the game’s first goal from a Koehn Zimmer one timer at the left circle, after a great feed from Chase Wheatcroft. The Americans were able to strike with three of their own from Reese Belton, Ethan Ernst, and Jared Sloan, two of which came on the man advantage.

In the second, the Cats were able to score a power-play marker of their own, courtesy of a Hudson Thornton point shot that got tipped in by Ziemmer to make it a one-goal game. The Americans answered again, as Dwayne Jean Jr. ripped one through the legs of Madden Mulawka to make it 5-3. Just 32 seconds after that, Riley Heidt registered a shot from a bad angle, that hit the paddle of Tomas Suchanec and in to make it 4-3 after 40 minutes.

Then the third period. Adam Mechura, Lukas Dragicevic, Jean Jr, and Ernst were all able to score and make it 8-3 Tri-City. The Americans collect their first victory of the season and split the weekend at CN Centre.

The Cougars outshot the Americans 41 to 28 in the game.
