The Gnats lost 29-14 in Terrace to the Northmen on Saturday to fall to 0-3 in Division 3 league play this season. The Northmen fielded a team with 32 players while the Gnats only had 13 regulars, plus two pickups from the Prince Rupert team.

The Gnats trailed 24-0 at the half but, second-row player Derrick Przysieny said they showed a lot of fight in bouncing back and out scoring the Northmen in the second half.

Josh Swain scored both tries and the points after for the Gnats.

The previous weekend the Gnats lost their second game of the season to a youthful Williams Lake team.

After two weeks off the Gnats return to action in Prince George on July 12 and 13.
