Team Canada, Dandeneau set for quarterfinal clash Monday night with U.S. at Paralympics

Team Canada defeated Australia 76-37 in their final preliminary round game Sunday in women’s wheelchair basketball. The victory earns Canada (3-1) a date with the United States (2-2) in the quarterfinals.

Canada and UNBC Timberwolves legend Kady Dandeneau are no stranger to the U.S. The two teams met in the gold medal game at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games, which Canada won 67-64.

Meanwhile, in men's wheelchair basketball, Canada earned its first win at the Paralympic tournament, defeating Korea 74-64.

Patrick Anderson led the Canadians with 29 points. Team captain Robert "Bo" Hedges, a former UNBC student from Fort St. John, collected 10 points as Canada improved to 1-3.

Canada remains in contention for a quarterfinal berth with one game remaining in the preliminary round, a 5 p.m. PT encounter today against Colombia.
