The UNBC Timberwolves will continue their quest for a playoff spot tonight at the Northern Sport Centre.
The men's basketball team will tip off against the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades at 8 p.m. The Timberwolves (9-7) enter the game in third place in the Explorer Division of Canada West. At the end of the regular season, the top three clubs will qualify for playoffs.
Beating the Cascades won't be easy. UFV, based in Abbotsford, boasts a 15-1 record and sits in first place in the Explorer Division.
The teams will also face each other on Saturday at 7 p.m.
After this weekend, the T-wolves will have just two games remaining, in Kelowna Feb. 13-14 against the last-place UBC Okanagan Heat.
The UNBC women's basketball team is also in action tonight and Saturday at the NSC (6 p.m. and 5 p.m.). At 2-14, the Timberwolves are last in the Explorer Division. UFV, meanwhile, is third with a 9-7 record.
