The UNBC Timberwolves are in a tailspin.
They lost their 11th consecutive game Saturday in Regina, falling 78-67 to the University of Regina Couigars.
Ben Hillis had a near triple-double for Regina, finishing with nine points, nine assists and eight rebounds, while Matt Barnard collected 22 points after hitting five triples. Sam Hillis added 14 points and nine reboundsand Josiah Thomas scored 12 points in the victory.
UNBC guard Tyrell Laing, who ranks second in Canada West scoring, paced UNBC with 28 points, six assists and five rebounds, while Chris Ross added 13 points and seven rebounds. Fareed Shittu had seven points to go along with 12 boards and three blocks.
The T-wolves (4-14) still have a chance to make the playoffs when they host the Grant MacEwan Griffins in a two-game series this Friday and Saturday at Northern Sport Centre.
