The UNBC Timberwolves were shorthanded underdogs but battled to the final buzzer, eventually losing 67-58 to the Calgary Dinos, No. 2-ranked team in U Sports, Saturday in Calgary.
Top scorers for the Timberwolves were Madison Landry, who had 20 points. Alina Shakirova had 12 points before exiting with an injury and Emily Holmes chipped in a season-high 10 points.
The Timberwolves now head home to prepare for the weekend, when they'll host the University of Fraser Valley Cascades at the Northern Sport Centre.
