T-wolves earn point against Pronghorns

A win still eludes them, but the UNBC Timberwolves women's soccer team earned a come-from-behind point in Lethbridge on Saturday afternoon. The T-wolves (0-4-1) battled the Lethbridge Pronghorns (0-3-2) to a 1-1 draw in Canada West action.

A win still eludes them, but the UNBC Timberwolves women's soccer team earned a come-from-behind point in Lethbridge on Saturday afternoon.

The T-wolves (0-4-1) battled the Lethbridge Pronghorns (0-3-2) to a 1-1 draw in Canada West action. Sydney Hall tied the game for the T-wolves in the 63rd minute off a corner kick set up by Tianna Pius.

Lethbridge had a 1-0 lead at the half on an unassisted marker by Kate Shellenberg.

After the game, the T-wolves boarded the bus for Calgary where they play the Calgary Dinos (3-0-1) on Sunday.

In their inaugural Canada West season the UNBC women finished with a 0-9-3 record, including a 2-2 tie with the Pronghorns.

Next week, the lady T-wolves play host to the Trinity Western University Spartans (1-1-2) on Friday, 7 p.m., and the UBC Thunderbirds (2-0-2) on Sunday, noon.

* In men's action, the UNBC T-wolves host the Mount Royal Cougars (1-2-1) on Sunday (noon, at the North Cariboo men's field), as they look for back-to-back wins after Friday's 1-0 triumph against the Winnipeg Wesmen.
