The Prince George Jet Label bantam Thunderbirds will be circling the bases today in Duncan, site of their provincial championship tournament.
The T-birds, a girls all-star softball team formed by 15- and 16-year-olds, are competing at the B level. They are one of 12 teams entered in the event, which continues through Sunday.
Members of the Thunderbirds are Sarah Arndt, Ceara Barkowsky, Devyn Gowan, Erika Crossan, Kali Oberg, Courtney Lank, Halee Sturgeon, Sydney Caplette, Sydney Fulljames, Shanna Olsen, Michelle Renshaw, Kourtney Miller and Tanelle Smith.
Smith, a middle infielder, is in the final stages of recovery from a concussion she suffered in May. As a precaution, she won't play in the tournament.
Coaches are Tracy Camazzola, Doug Sturgeon, Steve Smith and K-Lynn Hogh.
