Jesse Forsberg is on the move again.
The Seattle Thunderbirds traded the 20-year-old defenceman Wednesday to the Moose Jaw Warriors for a third-round pick in the 2015 WHL bantam draft.
"We've always liked Forsberg," Warriors general manager Alan Millar told the Moose Jaw Times.
"We feel he plays the game the right way. "He is a real competitor, he plays hard, he is gritty and will bring some character and leadership to our team."
Forsberg, a native of Waldheim, Sask., is going back to his roots in Saskatchewan after one full season and two games this season with the T-birds. He began his WHL career in 2008 with the Prince George Cougars and played two full seasons with the Cats. The former Cougar captain was traded in 2012 in a deal that brought high-scoring forward Colin Jacobs to Prince George.
Jesse, the older brother of 18-year-old Cougar winger Alex Forsberg, is now one of four 20-year-olds on the Warriors, who also have overagers Sam Fioretti, Todd Fiddler and Zach Holder. All WHL teams have to be down to a maximum of three 20-year-olds by next week's deadline.
The Cougars play in Moose Jaw on Jan. 31.
