Three members of the Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club competed at the Canada West Short Track championship in Canmore, Alta. over the weekend.
Callie Swan was the golden girl in bringing home five gold medals and the first overall placing in her category out of 13 skaters. Swan took gold in the 200 metre, 400m, 1,500m, 3,000m distances and in the relay.
Landon Young finished sixth overall out of 14 skaters, earning fourth place finishes in the 3,000m and relay events, sixth in the 400m, seventh in the 200m and ninth in the 1,500m.
Morgan Aucoin was 16th out of 16 competitors, picking up the bronze medal in the relay while skating to 14th place finishes in the 200m, 1,500m and 3,000m events and a 16th place finish in the 400m.
Skaters from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the territories of Yukon and the Northwest Territories were represented in Canmore.
