The PG Surg Med Knights are still perfect at the B.C. Minor Baseball midget double-A provincial championship in Kelowna.
They continued their power display at the plate in a convincing 17-1 win over the Tri City Thunder which gave the Knights a lock on first place in their pool after round-robin play with a 4-0 record.
Starting pitcher Darian Potskin hit two home runs for the Knights, one which scored two runs in the second inning and a solo shot in the fourth. Zach Fillion went 3-for-5 for Prince George with five RBI.
Potskin was pulled after two innings with the Knights leading 8-1. Richard French and Jacob Fillion went without allowing a run the rest of the game.
Brady Pratt notched the win for the Knights in a 14-4 decision over Mission Friday night. Earlier Friday the Knights trounced the Penticton Tigers 23-1, after opening Thursday with a 7-3 win over the Vancouver Expos. In their four games, the Knights have outscored their opponents 51-9.
"It's been offence from everywhere," said Knights assistant coach Dylan Lukinchuk. "Even the bottom of the order is producing just amazing offence for us right now.
"That Penticton team we played was bit weaker, but today's game was against a team that middle-of-the-pack in Vancouver, so it's kind of unexpected."
The Knights advance to the semifinal round Sunday at 9 a.m. against either the Burnaby Braves or Vancouver Expos. The final will be played Sunday afternoon.
"We're set up perfectly right now," said Lukinchuk. "With the amount of offence we've had, we've got all our pitching available, we haven't burnt a single pitcher in the tournament so anybody could go tomorrow and you don't have to worry about running him over the pitch count.
"The pitching this week has been phenomenal and its kind of been outshone by our offence. When can finish games in five inning  because your pitchers go out there and do the job, it's good to have."
