Kenny Lally is in for a tough two weeks.

He'll be pushing himself to the limits of his endurance starting Monday in Montreal at a national boxing team training camp. The 23-year-old Inner City Boxing Club member is vying for a spot on the Canadian team for the elite world championships in Kazakhstan.

The one-week camp in Montreal will help Lally prepare for the elite continental championships in Santiago, Chile, Aug. 29-Sept. 2, a qualifying event for the world championships. He's entered in in the 56-kilogram class, where he will face Olympic gold medalist Robisery Ramirez of Cuba and Freddie Ortiz of Puerto Rico.

The world tournament, which is held every two years, is set for Almaty, Kazahkstan, Oct. 4-13.

In other Inner City news, Jag Seehra is back in training to try to win back his national team spot. He's preparing for the senior elite national championships, Oct. 4-13.

Fresh from winning the masters 165-pound title at the Ringside World Championship in Kansas City last weekend, Inner City coach Bob Pegues has been named Team B.C. coach for the 2013-14 season.
