Skogan Schrott scored 3:36 into overtime to give the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings a 6-5 victory over the Vernon Vipers.

On Good Friday, Owen Goodbrand - the game’s first star - led the way with two goals.

Linden Makow, Luca Primerano and Kazumo Sasaki also scored for the Spruce Kings, who won for only the second time in nine games this month.

The Kings were leading 5-2 when the Vipers made their third-period comeback. Goals from Carson McGinley and Hank Cleaves made it a one-goal game and with one second left and their goalie on the bench, Noah Dorey scored his second of the game to force overtime.

Charlei Zolin stopped 22 of 27 shots to earn his sixth B.C. Hockey League victory.

David Ethan took the loss in net for Vernon while making 23 saves.

The win improved the Kings’ eighth-place record to 16-34-3-0, while Vernon remained fourth (32-19-2-0).

The Kings play Saturday in Merritt, the final regular season game for both teams.
