For the first time this season, the Prince George Spruce Kings have posted back-to-back wins.
Prince George native Scott Cousins scored his second goal and fourth point of the game to put the Spruce Kings ahead with less than three minutes left and they held on to defeat the Powell River Kings 5-4 Wednesday at the BCHL Showcase in Seattle.
Linden Makow of Vanderhoof notched the tying goal five minutes into the third period.
Lucas Veilleux opened the scoring with his first BCHL goal and Cousins connected later in the opening period to Prince George an early 2-0 lead. Kazumo Sasaki scored the other Spruce Kings goal in the second period. Makow also had two assists.
The Kings were outshot 36-23. Ryan Sanborn made 32 saves to notch his second career BCHL win.
With their win on Wednesday, the Spruce Kings (3-3-3-0-0) move into sixth place in the Interior Conference.
The Spruce Kings return to the Kraken Community Iceplex Thursday at 4:50 p.m. to face the Nanaimo Clippers.
Prince George also plays Saturday in Trail before the return trip home.
