The Prince George Spruce Kings have gone across the border to do some shopping.

They've added 19-year-old American-born forward Hunter Luhmann to their B.C. Hockey League roster and he's expected to make his debut tonight (7 p.m. start) at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena against the Wenatchee Wild.

The five-foot-11, 194-pound native of White River Junction, Vt., played junior hockey last season in the United States Hockey League for the Waterloo Black Hawks, based in Waterloo, Iowa. In 40 games, Luhmann collected three goals and four assists, as well as 21 penalty minutes.

In a three-year high school career at Proctor Academy of the United States High School League in Andover, N.H., Luhmann picked up 43 goals and 76 points in 82 games.

"We are excited to add Hunter to our roster," said Kings general manager Mike Hawes in a team release. "He's a very good hockey player and a great young man who will come in here and enhance a talented group of forwards. He brings good speed and skill and will be a good fit with what we are trying to build with this group."

The Kings (0-2-1) host Wenatchee in the second and third games of a tripleheader which started Wednesday when the Wild (1-0-0) beat the Kings 5-1.
