Spruce Kings winger Linden Makow scored twice in a 4-2 win over the Vernon Vipers Saturday at Kopar Memorial Arena.

The Prince George Spruce Kings found a way to send their fans home happy customers.

They scored four goals in the second period, all they needed to defeat the Vernon Vipers 4-2 in front of a crowd of 1,275 Saturday at Kopar Memorial Arena.

JR Perdion and Linden Makow each netted a pair of goals to give the Spruce Kings the weekend split they wanted after falling 5-3 to the Vipers on Friday.

Owen Goodbrand collected two assists and goalie Ryan Sanborn stopped 21 of 23 shots in the Spruce Kings nets.

Adam Csabi and Georgios Stavrianeas were the Vernon marksmen.

The win improved the Spruce Kings’ eighth-place record to 14-27-3-0. Vernon (26-17-1-0) remained fourth in the BVHL Interior Conference, 22 points ahead of the Spruce Kings.

The Kings hit the road for the next four games. They’ll be in Vernon and Merritt on the weekend, then visit Trail and West Kelowna the following weekend.

Prince George has 10 games left in the season.
