Junior hockey players need homes

Or to be more precise, a home away from home.

With training camp for the 2011-12 season just around the corner, the Prince George Spruce Kings are seeking billets for their players for a season that starts in September and could last until May -- provided the Kings extend their 40th season to the maximum and play in the RBC Royal Bank Cup.

Training camp starts Aug. 26 and the team is now in the process of finding suitable living quarters for the players. In return for food and lodging during the season, billet parents will be compensated with monthly cheques to cover the grocery bills, as well as season tickets for the entire family.

Players are responsible for their own transportation to and from the rink and to other team activities.
