The Prince George Spruce Kings will try to gain the advantage in their B.C. Hockey League playoff series with the Chilliwack Chiefs tonight, 7 p.m., as the best-of-five match up shifts to the Coliseum for Games 3 and 4.
After splitting two games at Prospera Place in Chilliwack, the Spruce Kings will try to do something they were unable to do during the regular season - beat their Mainland division opponent at home. In four games at the Coliseum against the Chiefs the home side fell 6-0, 3-0 and twice by a 4-2 margin. Overall the Spruce Kings posted a 2-5-0-1 record against the Chiefs.
Prince George started the playoffs with a 3-1 win Friday but were humbled 10-1 in Saturday's rematch. Kirk Thompson started the night in the Kings' net and was relieved by Liam McLeod after giving up five goals. The Chiefs out shot the Spruce Kings 47-25. Bryant Christian had the lone goal for the Spruce Kings in Game 2.
The Chiefs will be without Brodyn Nielsen tonight as the forward received a one-game BCHL suspension for picking up his fifth fighting major of the season Saturday night.
Game 4 will also be at the Coliseum, Tuesday at 7 p.m., with Game 5, if necessary, back in Chilliwack on Wednesday, 7 p.m.
