Vanderhoof native Linden Makow reminded the Prince George Spruce Kings what he means to the team last weekend on the B.C. Hockey League road in Cranbrook.
In two games, the 19-year-old right winger struck for two goals and three assists. He was in all the scoring plays for his team in their weekend series with Bucks.
Makow had three helpers in the Spruce Kings’ 3-2 win on Friday and scored twice in a 4-2 loss to Cranbrook the following night.
His offensive outburst earned him the BCHL’s second star-of-the-week award.
Makow ranks second to Kilian McGregor-Bennett in team scoring with eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 25 games.
Salmon Arm Silverbacks goalie Eli Pulver was selected first star of the Week after he let in just one of 66 shots in a pair of wins over the first-place Penticton Vees.
Forward Anthony Lucarelli of the Powell River Kings was the third star after he collected four goals and two assists in two games.
The Spruce Kings are back on home ice this weekend with games at Kopar Memorial Arena against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m., and it’s the annual Drop the Gloves and Sock It To ‘Em event to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Fans are encouraged to bring warm winter clothing including toques, scarves, gloves, or socks in bags and throw them over the glass onto the ice when the Spruce Kings score their first goal. All donations will be given to St. Vincent de Paul. Food donations will also be accepted at front entrance to the rink.
