With a playoff spot secured, the Prince George Spruce Kings wrap up the road portion of their B.C. Hockey League schedule with a three-game trip this weekend.
The Spruce Kings (23-18-1-7) are in Coquitlam for games tonight, 7 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m., to face the Mainland division's last place club, the Express (20-29-1). Saturday the Spruce Kings face the second-place Chilliwack Chiefs (30-18-1-1) in what appears to be a first-round playoff preview between the second- and third-place Mainland division teams.
The Spruce Kings trail the Chiefs by eight points, with a game in hand, and will be attempting to win their second straight game versus Chilliwack after dropping the first five season meetings between the clubs. Game time in Chilliwack is 7 p.m.
After this weekend's games, the Spruce Kings have four regular season games remaining, including three games, March 1-3, when they'll host the Vernon Vipers and a doubleheader with the Langley Rivermen at the Coliseum. The regular season wraps up for the Kings March 9 when the Salmon Arm Silverbacks visit Prince George.
