Special teams were a bit of mess Thursday for the Prince George Spruce Kings and the Nanaimo Clippers took advantage of them at the BCHL Showcase in Seattle.
They trounced the Spruce Kings 7-2.
The Prince George power play scored on just one of seven opportunities, a second-period goal from JR Perdion.
Kings defenceman Max Ranstrom opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the game with his second of the season.
Marcus Ouellet took the loss in net as the Kings were outshot 38-27.
The Spruce Kings next play Saturday in Trail against the Smoke Eaters.
