Spruce Kings fall on home ice to Silverbacks

The Prince George Spruce Kings fell 5-3 to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday at Kopar Memorial Arena.

Max Ranstrom and Lucas Veilleux scored for the Kings in the third period to help the Kings claw back from a 4-1 deficit but Salmon Arm put it away with an empty-netter with 1:05 to play.

Kazumo Sasaki scored the other goal for the Kings.

The teams face off against one another again tonight at 6 p.m. in the rematch at Kopar.

The Kings-Silverbacks BCHL game will be preceded at 3:30 p.m.by the Sirens Cup fundraising game between the Prince George RCMP and firefighters from Prince George Fire Rescue.
