Seventeen games with at least a point to put in the bank.

Life’s good if you’re a Prince George Spruce King.

The Kings extended their undefeated-in-regulation-time string to 17 games Friday on 2000s night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena , defeating the Wenatchee Wild 3-1.

Third-period goals from Kilian McGregor-Bennett and Nick Rheaume, with his team-leading 23rd of the season, gave the Kings what they needed to defeat the Wild.

Landon Parker’s power-play goal 13:42 into the opening period gave the Wild a lead they held until the five-minute mark of the second period, when 17-year-old Vanderhoof product Linden Makow netted his first goal of the season. The teams remained locked in a 1-1 tie until McGregor-Bennett scored the winner, 9:26 into the third.

Aaron Trotter made 23 saves to improve his record to 16-7-2-0.

The Kings fired 30 shots at Wild goalie Tyler Shea in front of 882 witnesses at RMCA.

The win kept the Kings third in the B.C. Hockey League’s Interior Conference as they improved to 23-9-3-5-0 with a .675 winning percentage. The Wild (13-17-4-1-0, .443) remain eighth in the Interior.

The Kings started their point streak Dec. 30 in Wenatchee with a 2-1 shootout loss to the Wild.

The same teams meet again Saturday at RMCA.
