Chad Niddery's shorthanded goal triggered a four-goal outburst in the second period and he followed that up a few minutes later with his second of the game. Carter Skinkaruk and Andrew Pettitt, with his second of the night, also scored in the middle frame.

The win allowed Powell River (11-3-1-1) to move into a tie with Langley and Penticton for first-overall in the BCHL. Prince George (2-13-0-2), losers of its last six, remained last overall.

The Kings will be in Trail for games Friday and Saturday, then visit Vernon Sunday afternoon.
