Newly-acquired goalie Charlie Zolin put aside a rough 8-7 loss on Friday and led the Prince George Spruce Kings to victory Saturday with a 3-0 shutout of the Trail Smoke Eaters at Kopar Memorial Arena.
Zolin, a native of Greenwich, Connecticut, who was picked up this past week from the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, turned aside 35 shots for his first win in a Kings uniform.
Linden Makow, Tristan Taylor and Owen Goodbrand took care of the scoring for Prince George.
The Spruce Kings are now off for a two-week Christmas break. Their next games are Dec. 29 and 30 at Kopar Memorial against the West Kelowna Warriors.
