Training camp is now in session for the Prince George Spruce Kings and 36 players are now engaged in the fight for roster spots for the new BC Hockey League season.
Practice sessions started Friday morning and will continue through 7 p.m. Friday at the Spruce Kings' home rink, Kopar Memorial Arena
Friday, Aug. 29
- 3:30 p.m. Forwards on-ice practice (60 minutes)
- 4:45 p.m. Defencemen on-ice practice (60 minutes)
- 6 p.m. Goalies on-ice practice (60 minutes)
Saturday, Aug. 30
- 10 a.m. Team Gray: On-ice practice (60 minutes)
- 11:15 a.m. Team Red: On-Ice practice (60 minutes)
- 6 p.m. Interasquad game: Team Red vs Team Grey (75 minutes)
Sunday, Aug. 31
- 2 p.m. Intrasquad game: Team Red vs Team Grey (Three 20-minute stop-time periods with ice cleaning)
All on-ice sessions are free to watch and open to the public.
The Spruce Kings start their BCHL preseason schedule on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Kopar when the y meet the Spruce Grove Saints in the first of weekend doubleheader that resumes on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Preseason tickets are $10 for adults/seniors and $5 for Youth six-18. Children 5 and under will be admitted free.
Tickets for the exhibition games are included with season ticket packages, which the club says will be released early next week..
