The Prince George Spruce Kings will have a new voice on the airwaves to broadcast their games next season.
The B.C. Hockey Club hired Ryan Lepper as its new broadcaster and communications director Friday.
Lepper will broadcast all of the Kings games at home at the Coliseum and on the road.
Last season, Lepper was the broadcaster for the Port Moody Panthers of the Pacific Junior Hockey League and will graduate in June from BCIT's Radio Arts and Entertainment program.
He is familiar with Prince George after he covered the 2015 Canada Winter Games working for ViaSport in their production of TV stories related to the Games.
"I am really excited to be joining the Prince George Spruce Kings, and integrating myself with the fan base who I know are one of the best in the league," said Lepper in a press release. "I've been to Prince George before, but I'm looking forward to settling in, and getting to know the city."
Lepper will also oversee all the team's social media accounts and maintaining the Kings blog and website.
"We are very excited to add a young, energetic person like Ryan to our Spruce Kings family," said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes.
"We haven't had a broadcaster on the road for the past couple of seasons and it was a priority for me that we get back to providing that to our dedicated and deserving fans."
