One goal was all the Vernon Vipers needed to knock off the host Prince George Spruce Kings Friday night.

Vipers forward Adam Csabi scored it just 56 seconds into the game and that was it. Nobody else could score and the Vipers walked off with a 1-0 victory in front of a crowd of 1,175 at Kopar Memorial Arena.

David Ethan earned his fourth B.C. Hockey League shutout of the season and was by far the busier of the two goalies on the ice. He made 34 saves while his team was outshot 34-16.

Charlie Zolin took the loss in net for Prince George.

With the win, the Vipers (31-19-1-0, fourth in Interior Conference), climbed to within two points of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for third place.

The Spruce Kings (15-33-3-0) remained eighth in the Interior.

The Spruce Kings and Vipers will meet again Saturday night (6 p.m) at Kopar, the final home game of the regular season for Prince George.
