The D beside Tait Ross’s name as the latest acquisition of the Price George Spruce Kings could stand for two things.
D for defence.
D for Dartmouth.
The Kings announced Thursday they’ve picked up the 18-year-old defenceman to complete a future considerations trade with the Surrey Eagles made earlier this past season in which they sent defenceman Brody Gagno to the Eagles.
The six-foot-two, 179-pound Ross, a native of Coquitlam, had two goals and eight assists in 48 games over the past two seasons with the Eagles. He’s signed a letter of intent to play for Dartmouth University starting in 2023.
“We’re thrilled to acquire Tait, he’s a tremendous person and a very good player,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “He will fit in well with our other returning defencemen.”
