The Prince George Spruce Kings plan to have a Dog guarding their cage this season.

The Kings announced Wednesday they've acquired the rights to 19-year-old goalie Logan Neaton in a future considerations deal with the Fairbanks (Alaska) Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League.

The six-foot-two, 185-pound Neaton put up stingy statistics last season with the Ice Dogs. He had a 2.00 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in 22 NAHL games, compiling a 17-4-0-1 record.

Neaton is from Brighton, Mich., the same hometown as Spruce Kings defenceman Jay Keranen.

As captain of his Brighton high school team two seasons ago he led his team to the Michigan state

"We are thrilled to add a great person and a great goaltender like Logan to our team," said Kings general manager Mike Hawes. "He's a big goalie who is very athletic and excellent technically. He's also a tremendous teammate with terrific leadership abilities. He is a great addition to our program."

He's expected to join his Spruce Kings teammates for the start of training camp on Aug. 24.
