Prince George's Trevor Sprague, who normally guides the Cariboo Cougars of the B.C. Hockey Major Midget League, has been named head coach of an Under-16 B.C. team that will skate at the 2013 Western Canada Challenge Cup.

Sprague, an assistant with the 2012 club that won gold in Calgary in November, will be helped out by Rob Milliken of Victoria and Leland Mack of Port Moody. The team's director of operations will be former P.G. resident David Michaud, who now lives in Kelowna and is the manager of the MML's Okanagan Rockets.

The Western Canada Challenge Cup is an elite-level tournament featuring clubs from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
