Smells like teen spirit.

If you've ever opened up a bag of sweaty hockey gear, you'll know what that's all about.

On Friday, Dc. 20, those pungent odours will be prominent in the CN Centre dressing rooms of the Prince George Polars and the College Heights Cougars when they meet in the 11th annual Spirit of Hockey and Community Cup game.

Regardless of the score, the big winners will be two prominent local charities. The PGSS team will be collecting food donations for the St. Vincent de Paul and the College Heights players are rounding up money donations for the Salvation Army. Both schools and their elementary feeder schools are also collecting socks, gloves and toques for needy folks.

The game happens on the last day of school before Christmas vacation and a large group of banner-waving, drum-beating students is expected to cheer on each team.

Renzo Berra is coaching the Polars, while Curtis Macdonald is the coach of the Cougars.
