The 12th annual Spirit Game (Spirit of Hockey and Community Cup) between the PGSS Polars and College Heights Cougars takes to the ice Friday at 12:30 p.m. at CN Centre.
Besides the action on the ice, College Heights is collecting food for the St. Vincent de Paul Society while PGSS is collecting funds for the Salvation Army.
Both schools and their feeder schools have also teamed up to collect gloves, tuques and socks for those in need.
Myles Mattila, a player with the Coast Inn of the North Tier 1 Midget Cougars, is setting up a Canucks Hockey, MindCheck booth promoting mental health awareness.
As a pre-game event, elementary schools will participate in a Christmas carnival from 9 a.m. to noon at CN Centre.
