Prince George Track and Field Club members Bazil Spencer and Max Schonewille made medal memories Friday at the B.C. high school provincial championships in Langley.
Spencer, who attends Correlieu secondary in Quesnel, won silver in the senior boys high jump, clearing 1.90 metres. Bryce MacKenzie of Mission took gold with a leap of 2.05m.
Schonewille, competing for Duchess Park, captured bronze in the senior hammer throw with a toss of 35.96m. Rowan Hamilton of Sardis won gold at 63.08m.
On Thursday, Schonewille placed seventh in discus (32.99m), while Hunter Floris of Nechako Valley in Vanderhoof was 12th (30.13m). Schonewille placed 21st in javelin (35.61m).
In other local results, Renessa Margison of Nechako Valley was 23rd overall in the junior girls 100m run, clocking 13.74 seconds; Tyler Loth of Kelly Road was 31st in the junior boys 100m (13.50); Sophia Mahmoud of Duchess Park was 24th in the junior girls 80m hurdles (14.23); and Spencer Hoppe of Prince George secondary was 31st in the junior boys 1,500m steeplechase (5:38.14).
