Special Olympians prepare for Nova Scotia

Rythmic gymnasts Michaela Samsonoff, Darcie Muzychka and Danielle Cavenaile are about to find out when they compete for Team BC. at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Antigonish, N.S.

The competition from July 31 to Aug. 4 is a qualifying event to select Team Canada for the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi in March 2019.

Dawn Taylor of Prince George will also travel to Antigonish as a swim coach for Team B.C.

The team BC will include 174 athletes with intellectual disabilities, 54 coaches, and 16 mission staff. The athletes qualified last year at the Special Olympics B.C. Summer Games in Kamloops.
