The UNBC Timberwolves soccer teams will be hosting UBC Okanagan Heat this Friday and Saturday.
Game times for the men are noon and 6 p.m. for the women, all at Masich Place Stadium.
The men sit at three losses and three ties, good enough for sixth place in the U Sport Canada West west division and will be looking to advance past the fifth-place Heat (one loss, three ties).
“I expect them to give us a hard fight, but I also expect us to give them a harder fight," said T-Wolves midfielder Hussein Behery. "I think, with the mindset and confidence we got from those final seven minutes vs UBC, we are ready to beat any team we play against.”
UNBC is also coming off an emotional high having roared back from a three-goal deficit to tie the UBC Thunderbirds 3-3 last Saturday.
The women are winless in six games and are seventh in their division. UBCO sports two ties and two losses and is in fourth place.
“I know they’re good at moving the ball around and passing, but we have improved with our defending and attacking," said midfielder Sarah Zuccaro. "If we keep our intensity up, I think it will be an intense, close game.”
