The Prince George Youth Soccer Association under-14 boys Timberwolves earned a silver medal at the Provincial B Cup championship Sunday in Richmond.
The T-wolves lost 2-0 to the Coastal Cup champ Surrey Rangers in the final, a match that coaches described as a tough, physical game.
Assistant coach Richard Watt said the team had no complaints about the score - Prince George played well and was beaten on the day by a slightly better team.
Prince George went into the final with an undefeated 3-0 round-robin record.
The U-14s opened the tournament with a 4-1 victory against Kootenay South Storm as Colburn Pearce scored all four goals for the T-wolves.
They edged KLM United 2-1, the 2014 Coastal Cup runners-up, in their second round-robin match.
Prince George was down 1-0 with four minutes left until Pearce and Matt Macsemniuk found the back of the net.
Pearce tallied both goals in the Timberwolves' 2-1 win against Juan de Fuca from Victoria. Juan de Fuca scored its lone marker on a penalty kick.
Watt and head coach Todd Kuc didn't want to single anyone out for individual performances, rather it was a complete team effort that earned them the silver medal.
He said all 16 members of the team played a full part and did everything that was expected of them and more. The coaches added that they are excited for the potential in all of the players.
Other team members include Carter Karpenko (main goalie), Matthew Kuc, Cecil MacRae, Conor Watt, Malcolm MacDonald, Braeden Salton, Matthew Wilkinson, Hunter Barks, Talon Beaulieu (goalie), Brayden Stafford, Alex Edgson, Liam O'Beirne, Peter Kemp and Jaden Saunders.
