The Prince George Coast Inn of the North midget Tier 1 Cougars sport a 2-1 record so far at the provincial championship in Comox.
On Monday, the Cougars pummelled the Northeast Trackers from Fort St. John 11-3.
It was their second-straight win after they shut out host Comox 8-0 Sunday night.
The Cougars suffered a 3-0 shutout loss to top-ranked Seafair from Richmond in their opening game Sunday morning.
Monday against the Trackers, the game was all tied at 1-1 after the first period of play.
"It was a period we dominated and we outshot them 15-1, but we weren't scoring on our chances," said Cougars' head coach Rob Millar. "We took over in the second and it was 9-3 after the period because we buried our chances."
Against Comox, Millar said it was a much closer game than the score indicated, adding it was 2-0 for a long time before the Cougars took over.
The midget Cats battle North Vancouver today at 2 p.m.
"That will be another close game for us and it's a must-win game for us," said Millar.
The top-two teams meet in the final Thursday night at 8 p.m.
