SnowPass will give kids a lift

The Canadian Ski Council has teamed up with ski resorts across Canada to offer families a chance to reduce the cost of lift passes.

The Canadian Ski Council has teamed up with ski resorts across Canada to offer families a chance to reduce the cost of lift passes.

Kids born in either 2002 or 2003 who are attending school in Grades 4 or 5 are eligible to buy SnowPass vouchers, which will give them a full-day pass for three visits at any participating ski resort.

SnowPasses are available for $29.95 at SportChek stores and will be honoured at 149 ski resorts across Canada, including 33 in B.C. Some restrictions do apply during peak-season periods. Several resorts will require adults to buy lift passes as well.

The list of local ski hills participating in the program includes Powder King (Mackenzie), Troll Mountain (Quesnel), Mount Timothy (100 Mile House), Hudson Bay Mountain (Smithers), Shames Mountain (Terrace) and Sun Peaks (Kamloops).
