The Trail Smoke Eaters left the Spruce Kings eating their dust on Friday.
The Smoke Eaters won 5-4 on their home turf, coming back from a three-goal deficit halfway through the second period with a goal in the second and three unanswered goals in the third period.
Jarod Hovde, Ethan de Jong, Brett Mennear and Chong Lee scored for the Spruce Kings, with assists by Hovde, Mennear, Kale Howarth, Jamie Huber and Luke Santerno.
Kings goalie Tavin Grant stopped 29 of 34 shots on net.
The Kings continue their roadtrip with a game Saturday in Penticton and on Sunday in West Kelowna.
