The Everett Silvertips spoiled Mark Holick's debut as head coach of the Prince George Cougars.
Friday night at CN Centre, the Silvertips scored two unanswered goals in the third period and beat the Cougars 3-2. The game was Holick's first behind the bench after he was named the replacement for the fired Dean Clark on Wednesday.
Manraj Hayer and Kohl Bauml netted the third-period goals for the visitors. Bauml's winner came at the 10:56 mark.
Bauml also opened the scoring in the first period.
The Cougars didn't get on the board until the second, when Troy Bourke and Rinalds Rosinskis beat Everett goaltender Austin Lotz.
Lotz was busy, as he faced 42 Prince George shots on the night. The Silvertips fired 22 shots at Cougars goalie Brett Zarowny.
The Silvertips went 0-for-2 on the power play and the Cougars were scoreless in five opportunities.
Announced attendance was 1,575.
The teams will meet again tonight (7 p.m.) at CN Centre.
