Shand leaves records in his wake

Matthew Shand had a wonderful weekend in the water. Shand, a 10-year-old member of the Prince George Pisces swim club, set four pool records and stroked to the aggregate title in his age group at a meet in Dawson Creek last weekend.

Shand, a 10-year-old member of the Prince George Pisces swim club, set four pool records and stroked to the aggregate title in his age group at a meet in Dawson Creek last weekend. One of the records he broke had stood for forty years.

Other aggregate champions from the Pisces were Ben Shand, Jessica Ballantyne, Fraser Macrae and Kiana Smith. Meanwhile, Brendon Bellavance, Susie Macrae, Michael Jurjevich, Eva Gobbi and Trinity Dodd were all awarded aggregate silver medals. Aggregate bronze medals went to Beth Martin, Gareth Lamb and Kyra Arrowsmith.

The next meet for the Pisces is July 7-8 in Mackenzie.
