There is nothing like the feeling of winning at home.
The College Heights Cougars did just that on Saturday, capturing the Jon Bragg Memorial senior boys volleyball title on their home court.
It was the second consecutive title of the season for the Cougars, after they won the Duchess Park tournament on Sept. 26.
Saturday in the comfy confines of their home gym, the Cougars downed Bulkley Valley in straight sets (25-23, 25-9) to claim the championship.
College Heights topped Centennial Christian in the semifinal (2-0) and Cedars Christian (2-0) in the quarter-final.
Bulkley Valley reached the final with a semifinal victory against the PGSS Polars and a quarter-final win against Kelly Road.
Centennial Christian upended PGSS for the bronze medal, with scores of 25-18 and 25-14.
D.P. Todd finished fifth, followed by Duchess Park in sixth place. The Kelly Road Roadrunners wound up seventh and Cedars Christian finished eighth.
The Cougars finished first in their round-robin pool with wins against D.P. Todd, Centennial Christian (Terrace), and Bulkley Valley Christian.
Cougars Graham Walkey and Nigel Thompson were named all-stars.
Other all-star selections were Rudy Vandenberg from Bulkley Valley, Chad MacDonald from Centennial Christian, Spencer Jeans from PGSS, Malcolm Lambert from D.P. Todd, Eaden Singh from Duchess Park, Liam Campbell from Kelly Road and Brandon Syrup from Cedars Christian.
