Sands bounces to bronze
Gymnast Emma Sands posted the top local result at the Aaron Johnson Memorial in Burnaby on the weekend.
At the meet, Sands competed in trampoline and double-mini trampoline and bounced to a bronze medal on the bigger apparatus. In double-mini, she placed 11th.
Also on trampoline, Rhiana Palfy and Anna MacDonald were fifth and eighth respectively in their categories. Kassie Zogas earned an eighth-place result as well, while Rachel Massey was 13th.
In double-mini trampoline, MacDonald led the locals with a fourth-place showing. Massey finished sixth, Palfy was seventh and Zogas ended up 15th. Palfy, Massey and Zogas also competed in tumbling and finished sixth, 16th and 17th respectively.
This coming weekend, many local gymnasts will attend the Gold Pan meet in Quesnel, an event that will serve as the B.C. trials for Level 6 athletes.
