Fresh meat is wanted at the Prince George Roll-A-Dome for the next 11 weeks.
The Rated PG Roller Girls are giving tutorials for rookie or fresh meat women interested in learning more about roller derby. The training camp began on Monday, but newcomers are welcome to drop by, strap on a pair of rented roller skates and try out their derby readiness on Mondays for the next 10 weeks. The only mandatory equipment necessary to start with is a multi-sport helmet. No derby skills are required to tryout.
The fresh meat camp will lead into the Skatefest on Nov. 16, which is open to women from across northern British Columbia and includes a rookie boot camp followed by two games - one for rookies and one for intermediate players.
The camps are open to all women 18 and older, but younger women and men can join the fun by volunteering their time to help out in various positions.
Prince George's Rated PG Roller Girls will host their first tournament weekend March 22.
