In his first-ever game in the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association, Kidwell scored four goals for the Prince George Bandits in their 14-4 win against the Cowboy Ranch Stylers. The game, which kicked off the 25th anniversary season of the PGSLA, was played Wednesday night at the Coliseum.

Kidwell, who was named first star, got plenty of offensive support from his teammates. Drew Doig finished the contest with five goals and three assists while Lucas Buckhorn had three goals and one helper.

For the Stylers, Matt Rochon replied with two goals and one assist. Chris Rochon and Michael Bayley also scored.

The Bandits led 4-3 after the first period and 9-3 after the second.

On Thursday night, the Northland Nissan Assault took on the Quesnel Crossfire at the Coliseum.

Games resume next week, with the Stylers facing the Assault on Monday, the Bandits meeting the Assault on Wednesday and the defending champion Westwood Pub Devils taking on the Crossfire on Thursday. All games will start at 8 p.m. at the Coliseum.

Three members of the Devils - Jamie Bellamy, Andrew Schwab and Pierce Watson - are currently in Prague, Czech Republic, for the Ales Hrebesky Memorial box lacrosse tournament. Bellamy, Schwab and Watson are playing for the Vancouver Pioneers, one of four Canadian entries in the event. Other countries represented are the host nation, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, France, Austria, Israel, Turkey, Poland and the United States.

The tournament, in its 22nd year, started Wednesday and goes until Saturday.
