One of Hockey Night in Canada's favourite hosts is paying a visit to Prince George next spring.
Ron MacLean is hitting the road across Canada as part of the inaugural Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour presented by Scotiabank and Chrysler.
He'll be in Prince George on Sunday, March 22 as the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour will roll into a different community, 25 in all, across the country during the 2014-15 NHL season with a weekend of free outdoor hockey festivities for all ages, culminating in an outdoor viewing party of an NHL game broadcast every Sunday.
MacLean will host a live 30-minute pre-game show onsite in Prince George from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio leading into an NHL broadcast between the Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes.
The broadcast will include interviews with celebrities, NHL alumni, and special guests with connections to the community, including features on local NHL players and grassroots stories.
That weekend in March will include family outdoor viewing parties, skills and drills competitions, a winter market showcasing local culinary culture and local bands and entertainment.
Prince George is one of three B.C. cities participating in the Hometown Hockey Tour. The others are Burnaby and Kelowna.
